Ramakrishna Paramahansa was one of the greatest devotee of Goddess Kali. He saw her as a mother and is said to have trance sessions where he was supposed to have talked to the Goddess. His simple manner of explaining the most erudite philosophical and spiritual concepts saw him gather a huge following not only in Bengal but also all over India. His wife, Sarada (typically addressed by devotees as Ma (Mother) Sarada) was also seen to be a great devotee of the Goddess Kali.
