Osiris is one of the most ancient Gods in Egypt. He was worshipped widely, till the establishment of the suppression of paganism during the Christian Era. Osiris was known as the redeemer of the dead in their afterlife. He was also the Lord of the Underworld, that judged the dead and granted them life afterward. Osiris gave life to all creatures, including the rich vegetation and the verve of the fertile Nile River. The Kings of Egypt are believed to have connected with Osiris after their deaths, so that Osiris would arise again from his own death and grant them the boon of eternal life through his magical powers.
Osiris, the son of the Earth God, Geb and the Sky Goddess, Nut, is also the husband of Isis and father of the powerful Horus. He is traditionally green-skinned and appears to be a partially mummified pharaoh. Osiris is shown as wearing the Atef crown with a pair of ram horns attached to its base, holding aloft the crook and flail, which shows his divine authority over the pharaohs.
