The Hindu pantheon is known to consist of about thirty three crore gods! One of them is the Sun God or Surya Devata. The Hindus worshipped all aspects of nature in the form of various Gods. The Sun God, the life-giver on earth, is one of the more powerful Gods in Hindu mythology.

The Sun God is usually shown riding a chariot drawn by seven white horses. The radiant god travels all around the world, radiating majesty, inspiring awe in all and granting unlimited boons on those who worship him. Interestingly, the Sun God is also worshipped in many other countries in Asia.

The simple, yet impressive, Madhubani painting featured here shows the Sun God in all his glory. The cleverly painted picture seems to verily reflect the energy of the Surya Devata. Place it in your living room and you will actually light up your entire home with the radiance of Surya!
