The Buddhists regard the White Tara as the Goddess of Compassion. She is, in fact, revered as compassion itself. She is depicted as having seven eyes, which actually epitomize her thoughtful, watchful, and kind nature.
The White Tara, or the Sitatara, as she is called, is a powerful and enlightened entity. She is radiant, serene and resplendent in all her simplicity, emanating purity and knowledge. She is shown seated on a white lotus and a silvery moon. Seated in the vajra pose, she looks composed, majestic and utterly blissful.
