This antiquated Dhokra (lost wax casting) item depicts tribal hunters from India, carrying home a deer they have killed. The young warriors would travel far from their villages on long distance hunts for the deer. Hunters are usually meat eaters, after all the ultimate aim of a hunt is to eat your kill. Hunting is the art of chasing game and killing it as cleanly as possible and taking only what will be eaten. This item is a wonderful imagination of a tribal artist from Madhya Pradesh, India.
