The Lion, the King of the Jungle, a mammal and a member of the big cat family, is one of the most majestic of animals. The male lion has an impressive mane, while the female is always less impressive, with a ‘bald’ head! Lions thrive and breed in tropical environments, like Asia and Africa. Lions are a proud clan, giving priority to family and relationships. Lions always stick around with their partners and little cubs and are very protective of them. Lions always move in groups. They even hunt in groups, as this always proves to be the best hunting technique for them.

Lion cubs are always shielded by adults till they grow old enough to fend for themselves. Even at a few weeks of age, little cubs are majestic both in looks and in gait.

Featured in this hand painting is a young lion cub peering out from a branch of a tree. The painting clever and realistic-looking shading brings out the little cub’s majesty and royal carriage, even as he casually rests on the branch.
