Depicted here is a colorful poster of a Rajputana Princess traveling along with her royal family and faithful entourage on a long journey. In the bygone era, Princesses seldom traveled out of their territory and when they did, they were taken in a stunning royal procession. The Princess of Rajput is seated in a Palki, a sort of handheld, open cabinet, carried by four able-bodied men. She sits demurely in there, while the royal menfolk travel on elephants or on horseback. Her attendants follow her, singing and dancing in joy. The poster here depicts a scene of celebration of some kind, a festive occasion to be enjoyed to the hilt! The crowd is shown passing through a pathway surrounded on either side with thick vegetation. The Rajkumari or the Princess pulls the ghunghat (veil) over her head and quietly enjoys the fresh air and the goings-on around her. Add a royal touch to your home with this unique, arty poster! |
