Rajasthani Beauties

The Rajputs hail from Rajasthan, India. They are originally a warrior race, also called the Kshatriyas. The unique feature of the Rajputs is the respect and protection they gave to their women. The Rajput women, too, were known to be pure, chaste and equally devoted to their husbands.

Rajput women are famed for their beauty and their bravery. The mention of Rajput women brings to mind images of the valorous and pure Queen Padmini, who fought to maintain her dignity as a woman.

The other beautiful and brave Rajput beauty is Mirabai, the Rajput Crown Princess who gave her entire being to the bhakti (devotion) of Lord Krishna. She rebelled against societal norms and carried on with her regular worship in spite of all odds, finally attaining the Lord.
Seen here is a beauteous painting of a lovely royal Rajput woman resting on her couch wearing a pensive expression, deep in thought.
