Are you looking for an ethnic item that also depicts everyday life of the rural folk? Well, here, we have for you a bright and shiny wood sculpture of a fisherwoman selling her wares. The fisher folk are a highly industrious lot, toiling hard each day, to earn their living. Her sari draped neatly around her person, the fisherwoman is comfortably seated on the ground, exhibiting her catch for the day. The oiled hair tied back tightly in a knot, the big bindi or vermillion mark placed on her forehead, the round, glistening nose-ring, the gold bangles, necklace and earrings, all give her a completely rustic, yet charming, touch. She keeps her basket of fish beside her and methodically arranges all the fish in front of her. Having settled at her job, she hopes that she would be able to sell all her fish at a good enough price to help her earn a good profit for the day.
