RADHA KRISHNA
A DIVINE LOVE

The relationship of Radha and Krishna is the embodiment of love, passion and devotion. Radha's passion for Krishna symbolizes the soul's intense longing and willingness for the ultimate unification with God. Shri Krishna is the soul of Radha and Radha is definitely the soul of Shri Krishna. She is the undivided form of Shri Krishna. She will remain a mystery unless one can know her inexpressible divine elements. She is worshipper as well as his deity to be worshipped. She being a beloved of Shri Krishna is known as "Radhika".

The whole universe material and spiritual is the creation of Shri Radha - Krishna. Shri Radha is the presiding Goddess of Shri Krishna. The Paramatma - supreme Lord - is subservient to her. In her absence Shri Krishna does not exist.

Shri Krishna is not only the ultimate object of all love, but also is the topmost enjoyer of all loving relationships. Therefore, in the dynamic and expanding form of Krishna, He has unlimited desires to enjoy spiritual loving relationships or pastimes, known as leela. To do this, He expands Himself into the dual form of Krishna and Radha, His eternal consort and topmost devotee. In other words, Radha is the feminine aspect of Lord Krishna and is non-different from Krishna, but together (both the masculine and feminine aspects). They fulfill the purpose of engaging in sublime loving pastimes to exhibit supremely transcendental loving exchanges.

Brajbhoomi where Lord Krishna was born comprises the twin cities of Mathura and Vrindavan. It is not just a sacred land where Lord Krishna was born and performed His cosmic leela, but a place full of divine reminiscences. It was here that He ultimately found Radha, His inseparable companion. Vrindavan, 15 km from Mathura, was the favorite haunt of the divine couple.

The lotus-eyed, dark skinned Krishna is the complete and perfect man of Indian mythological traditions. That makes Krishna a major non-Aryan God in the Hindu pantheon. He was the eighth incarnation of Vishnu, the Preserver of Universe. He took the human form to redeem mankind from evil forces. Krishna was physically irresistibly appealing. Ancient texts dwell at length on his exceptionally alluring countenance: a blue complexion soft like the monsoon cloud, shining locks of black hair framing a beautifully chiseled face, large lotus like eyes, wild -flower garlands around his neck, a yellow garment (pitambara) draped around his body, a crown of peacock feathers on his head, and a smile playing on his lips, it is in this manner that he is faithfully represented since the ancient times to the modern.

Krishna was born in a prison cell more than 3000 years ago in Mathura. Legend has it that Mathura was ruled by a king called Ugrasena. One day, Ugrasena and his wife were taking a walk in the gardens, where a demon saw the queen and fell in love with her. In this lust for her, he diverted the attention of Ugrasena, assumed his form himself and fulfilled his desire. The child born of this union was Kamsa. Kamsa grew up to dethrone his father and imprison his sister Devaki (daughter of Ugrasena) and her husband Vasudeva. Devki later became the mother of Krishna.

It so happened that on the day Kamsa was driving his newly married sister and her husband Vasudeva to their new home, a voice from the heavens intercepted him. The voice conveyed to him that the eighth child of Devki would kill Kamsa. Consequently, he imprisoned the couple and started killing their children, year after year. Seven children were lost but the eighth one - the Lord escaped the hands of the butcher and lived on to slay Kamsa later. Lord Krishna was born at midnight on the 8th day of the dark half of the month of Bhadrapada (August-September) and was brought to Vrindavan by Vasudeva (Krishna's father) on the same night to save Him from Kamsa. He was brought up in Vrindavan by the cowherd family of Yashoda and Nanda Raja.

WORSHIPPER & WORSHIPPED

Radha is recognized as the loveliest of all the cowgirls. She was the wife of Ayana and the daughter of the cowherd Vrishabhanu and his wife, Kamalavati. Radha was a childhood friend and soulmate of Krishna and the two were inseparable as playmates and later as lovers. Theirs was a love hidden from society, given Radha's status of a married woman. They had their moments of love, passion and anger - just like any two lovers in love and yet their love could not stand the test of duty that Krishna had to face. He had to leave Vrindavan, and Radha, to ensure that the ideals of truth and justice were established but in the process had to let down the ideal of personal love. He became a king, defeated innumerable enemies and even married a number of times. And yet it is said Radha kept waiting for him to come back to her. Her love for Krishna is considered so divine and so pure that Radha herself obtained the status of a deity, with her name being insperably linked to that of Krishna. Most of Krishna's images are considered complete when Radha stands by his side.

The word Radha means the greatest worshiper of Krishna. No other gopi in Vrindavana has such a significant name as Sri Radha. Of course, all the Braja gopis love and give pleasure to Krishna. However, compared to Radhika's ocean of love for Krishna, the other gopis are merely pools, ponds and rivers. As the ocean is the original source of all the water found in lakes and rivers, similarly the love found in the gopis, and in all the other devotees has its origin in Sri Radha alone. Since Radha's love is the greatest, she gives the greatest pleasure to Krishna. 'Krishna enchants the whole world, but Srimati Radhika enchants even Him. Therefore, Radha is the Supreme Goddess.' In Vrindavana, people are accustomed to chant Radha's name more than Krishna's name.

Radha's love for Krishna is all consuming and compels her to ignore her family honor and disregard her husband. Radha serves as a symbol for all of the Gopi girls' love for Krishna. Their relationship develops on Krishna's captivating charm and aura of passion as Radha falls into a state of desire for this God. Radha is the soul; Krishna is the God. Krishna is the shaktiman - possessor of energy - and Radha is His shakti - energy. She is the female counterpart of the Godhead. She is the personification of the highest love of God, and by her mercy the soul is connected with the service and love of Krishna.

The relationship between Radha and Krishna is the example of the highest and purest love, an indissoluble union of the highest intermingling and completion; it is also a love expressed through music. Music underlines the illicit relationship; this love shadowed by secrecy, adultery and scorn, finds its outlet in Krishna's charming and passionate musical talents.

Radha is married or involved with someone else, and still cannot resist Krishna's musical call. In being with Him she risks social censure, alienation and humiliation. Riddled with shame and inappropriateness, this is hardly a relationship that purportedly embodies the highest union of pure love. Music becomes the voice of their illicit love which is too passionate, and secretive. Krishna is the cosmic musician who woos the gopi's (cowherd girls) with his tunes. Krishna's flute sounds so powerful that they embodied the energy of the cosmos. His beauty, charm and musical skill impassion women everywhere; at the sound of his flute playing, the gopis "jump up in the middle of putting on her makeup, abandon her family while eating a meal, leave food to burn on the stove, and run out of her home to be with Krishna". In the embrace of Krishna, the gopis, maddened with desire, found refuge; in their love dalliance with him who was the master in all the sixty-four arts of love, the gopis felt a thrill indescribable; and in making love with him in that climatic moment of release, in that one binding moment, they felt that joy and fulfillment which could not but be an aspect of the divine.

Through their experience, thus, the erotic the carnal and the profane became but an aspect of the sublime, the spiritual and the divine. This cumulative myth sustained one basic point: for women, Krishna was a personal god, always accessible and unfailingly responsive. He was a god specially made for women. In the popular psyche, Krishna and Radha became the universal symbol for the lover and the beloved. Krishna was the ideal hero, and Radha the ideal heroine.

This is the tie that binds Him and Radha; erotic musical passion overrides the social and female responsibilities Radha is tied to and she relinquishes herself to her adulterous, but passionate affair with Krishna.

Krishna led a very pampered and amorous life in the Gokul, alongside thousands of gopicas, the cowherdresses who were all enthralled at His beauty and were thrilled whenever He played the flute. There are numerous playful instances of Krishna, playing mischief with the gopikas including breaking their butter pots.

Krishna represents the private life of the Absolute. His relationship with Radha, His Divine consort, actually constitutes the private life of Krishna. In this relationship, Love reigns supreme as Krishna surrenders to Radha. Krishna is lovestruck while Radha has taken over control. He has surrendered to the Power of Love. Very few people really understand this relationship and the message it contains. The supreme object of devotion, Krishna, worships the highest devotion, Radha. The zenith of Radha and Krishna's love affair is the Raas-Leela, the circular dance of love. The Raas-Leela points to the highest potential of the soul. It is within this context of the circular dance that the highest is couched in apparent selfishness.

Radha Krishna is the original principle of loving relationships (conjugal Love). The sex principle exists in the Absolute in its pure form without any inebriety or impurity, because Krishna is in fact Radha. In other words, the Lord is one, but for His pleasure and enjoyment, He expands himself to enjoy loving relationships. The original expansion is Radha. Together, Radha and Krishna enjoy eternal pastimes of transcendental love.

Real love exists between Radha and Krishna. Real love is transcendental and spiritual. We have to become attracted to spiritual love and give up false love and beauty, which are only skin-deep. There is nothing beautiful underneath the skin. Krishna consciousness means to be serious and determined to transcend the material attraction between man and woman in order to become attracted to the lotus feet of Radha and Krishna. Srila Prabhupada said, "The sum and substance of material life is attraction for woman. And the sum and substance of spiritual life is attraction for Radha-Krishna".

Article Reviews
I personally think no one has that kind of mind set and that kind of knowledge of Radha and Krishna to truly understand their relationship. Their love was purely divine and pure to the highest degree and that is something that people cannot really grasp. Their love was passion and devotion of God and worshiper, but there was more to it. I agree it is very complex but it should also be understood that it wasn\'t a wrong type of love, it was love on a whole new level that is hard to understand, however it was true love at it\'s finest.
I also don\'t think that it means you should cheat, it\'s an example of how love should be and how your devotion to your God should be. It should be pure, eternal and true. Take the meaning of what was present in that love. Look deep into it, don\'t just consider what was outside of it. Learn to love wholeheartedly.

Really you think yourself to be The supreme Goddess herself and her sakhi. dear lady you better be ready to prove yourself ....the claim you make is most dangerous ....everyone feel this way when love is inspired in the heart but you must not make callous statements. Lalita would rebuke you for publically making such a fool of yourself and how rude to claim the godesses body with no proof of your own.!

NO no you are wrong about the facts of the story . their love was so pure and they are allready soulmates eternally . its very difficutl to underststand from the materialist platfrom and the guru is not wanting people to disregard the fact but in proper timing to really really understandd them word for word. Guru is not stupid or manipulative he is very honest and intellegent it is stupid people who are misled and re peat the story wrong . Any way most of their time together which was their childhood until their teenage years and most of their momemts together were in play and deep embrace .their is nothing ever told directly about intercourse and one could ony find out through meditation chanting and direct vision. hoewver it is totally natural to question the scenario but you should know Krishna is totally under Rhadarani's control and yes she loves him with all her heart and soul. Their love is so deep and and connected that in between their moments together they are speaking without words . Plus Krishna is also proving Radhran'is love to the world and he is only the most handsome man in existence and so many people wanted to an opportunity to see him. Radharani was happy at home she was able to dream of Krishna from far and even love him while he had other wives . that is thew most complex part of the story for sure it takes so much time and a lot of enlihghten ment to get that uncodtionall aspect of it. unconditional love is not "anything goes" its love in spite of everything and because its the depest most beautifull loveone has ever felt . Also the love between a parent and child or best friends .so sometimes iv bee hurt or incredulous but really take the time to get to know Radha and Krishna because their love is forever and their is a lot more to it .

What you dont understand is that we are all part and parcel of God which means that Radha and Krishna are the supreme personalitiies of God so their displays of love are the most complex and require a lot of depth and many many hours of contemplation in a humbled state from both the logic and intuitive centerrs of the brain. We are told by the authorities of the disciplic succesion that we should never imitate God but follow in the footsteps of his devotees and learn from the instructions given as how to perform our dtuies in this life and by what means our enjoyment should come from. GOd gives us free will but it is only truly free when it is in accordance with the supreme will , which may come as a shock becaus ewe might take this as some kind of cruelty but tis not so it is merely how the bigger picture works and Krishna truly wants our happiness so no worries. As far as Radha's marriage....it is seen from this light as i will explain soon. First you should know that Radha and Krishna are the highest embodiments of love and love is their relligion. So to understand love we must understand that everyone wants it and it must be divided equally. THis earth plane is in the material universe which is a perverted reflection of the spiritual world so when god comes he comes to teach ...in a manner that is most auspicious, blissfull and knowledgeable. AS he is the supreme enjoyer his manner is the most spontaneous and mysterious . His play cannot be mimicke or imitated but if one expresses sincere desire for a relationship with him one is sure to get everything that that soul truly desire to experiance and learn. Back to Radha in the pastimes of life in Vrindavan Abhimanu was "Radha's so called husband for that pastime in order to facilitate the loving exchanges between many other devotees as well as comical and secretive love affairs between Radha and Krishna . because they are God no one is seriously hurt only given room to grow in love. for now that is all i shall. All glories to Srimati Radharani and Her beloved Sri Krishna.

I am surprised and shocked to know that Radha was a married woman and Krishna was in fact her secret adulterous lover! What the hell? The way people talk about their love being pure? So does that mean if you love someone a lot outside your marriage and you are ****ing him in 64 different ways while he plays music, then that makes the affair a divine blessing?

If I understood it right, as the same God exists in everyone, if someone cheats on his/her partner by loving someone else, it is rightful act. On the other hand, how can God sleep with his daughter as it has been said that God is mother and father to all? God himself said that a man/woman can only remarry after the death of the partner but attachment should not be even then. He always teach us detachment while he promoted attachment. If Radha was divine conscious, she would have realised that even in her husband there is God and that through marriage she promised or accepted her husband as God and abide by the right path. Adultery is considered to be a sin. Ram abide by his words and respected all and everyone the same. He also got married before even Sita left her physical self. Isn't it adultery too? Something not related to all these but still I am searching for an answer. If we are all brothers and sisters (as God is our parents), we sleep with our brother/sister. As we are one with all, we sleep with ourselves too. We all here we want to know the truth because there are so much thing that we have been taught as being wrong and justified here by the name of love.
We are all lying to ourselves in a way or the other. That is why Buddha who is also and incarnation of lord Vishnu, left his family in search of truth. We only know the story until he attained moksha, and the truth was never shared.
God says, "Service to man is service to God". If Radha was as pure as what we pray her to be, she would have understood that her duty starts with her husband in whom the same Krishna lives.
The article justifies, what we consider as wrongful, to be good as long as there is love. God loves all the same as all are part of him which justifies any of his acts even he sleeps with all his/her children and that is what is actually happening is we consider the fact that the atma is love, and love is God. I feel cheated after realising that I have been sleeping with myself, my sisters and brothers, with may be my actual parents in previous lives.

First of all, the writer doesn't really know the true relationship between goddess Laxmi and Vishnu who as one, as the male and female forces manifested in Kali yuga as RadhaKrishna and played their roles with "TRUE" love as the Supreme Divine Lovers, expanding the teachings and love into the 3 worlds.
The love expanded them with too many roles, manifesting goddes Laxmi as Radha or Satyabama or Rukmani or even as the all 16000 queens. For vishnu, it will always be Laxmi, even if they carry different roles and names to manifest in this material world for different kinds of purposes.
How could be a Supreme Lord, accepts other women(human beings) with lust and in a cheap manner to fulfill their love desires? For me, plus I strictly protest ones saying this about my paramathma because it is not a Divine quality but a Demoniacal quality. At the same time, he is not like that, anyway.
Storys from the sciptures and past may vary, but what was the truth happened in about 3000 years ago? Who passed the storys about Krishna pleasing too many women with lust to this world?
As we know, Krishna had many enemies, and it could be the ASURAS as well!!
Who can really, and trully Know Krishna, as he said in the Bhagavatha Purana.. "only one in a million can trully Know him".
It just takes about a thought to analize the negative storys being written and told about the Divine avatars. If we truly and deeply worship the Lord with Love, we should not believe in storys like this. Just a simple common sense would work the best.
Do not misunderstand the Divine qualities the Lord carries, by simply believing into such cheap storys like that! None of us saw what happened 3000 years ago! TQ

This article seems so confusing and the reason for the confusion can be two
1. The author is not very clear about the relationship of Radha and Krishna (no harm...different sources of reference seem to have different theories and we did not see anything personally)
2. The author tries her best to justify the relationship (which is seen as a taboo/curse (i dont know a bigger word)for 'mortals')
BTW, why is this title"Divine Love"?
Does 'Divine Love' represent get married to one and attend the 'musical call' of some one else or enjoy 'conjugal bliss' with one and desert her for the rest of the life???
FYI, I am a Hindu and am not an atheist (as of now... reading all this might make me one soon)... but I am happy that our religious scriptures are not widely read... ppl get very easy excuse "When God himself can love a married woman, why not me????"

to the answers of the above muslim reader as he/she calls himselves....rama is more humman than krishna.rama is considered to be purushotham(that is supreme human being) in ramayana god appears himself in human for and explains the duties of a person towards everyone...rama never doubts his wife in his mind he has absolute trust in her but as a ruler he had to prove that to his followers or his subjects...that was his obligation towards his people..so being a normal man how you have to suffer and still be righteious is what is illustrated in ramayana..life is not always happy ending......ramayana is about how to live right and do your duties against one another

In this relationship, Love reigns supreme as Krishna surrenders to Radha. Krishna is lovestruck while Radha has taken over control. He has surrendered to the Power of Love.this is the true essence that has to be understood The supreme object of devotion, Krishna, worships the highest devotion, Radha. the rest is all story that was written according to people and belief that was present at that period in the society.stories are for the understanding of common people.the true essence is the power of love.it is limitless and without boundaries that is what is to be understood from radha n krishnas love.....have any one tried to explain the love that you have for someone wether before marriage or after that to your parents, friends or anybody close i will bet they wont understand..nobody understands love unless they have experience it.it is not just your sexual desire it is much more than that....when you mix your pleasure, sex etc in love it is always so bad and yuck..but in pure form it is not necessary that for you to experience the pleasure of someones company you have to be physically present near him even thoughts are enough..and i can guaruntee that no one is soo perfect to think only about a single person all through the life.right from childhood.(atleast there may be an actor or actress or a personality by whom you were inspired or who had effected your heart )..but radha had eyes only for krishna through out her life...that is love....wether she is elder, married or had kids had nothing to do with what god wanted to convey..

I came upon this Article by chance when i was googling to find out what happened to Radha ji after Krishanji left.

Its surprising how the whole world seems fixated on the intent of their actions. Who cares whether their relationship was (pardon me for the use of the word) illicit or not. I don't. Its the whole depth of their relationship that draws one to them.

The only reason why i was interested in finding out as to what happened to Radhaji is mainly because of my belief (and please forgive me if i should upset anyone with what i am about to say) that in both his Avatar's Vishnu has not been kind to the women in his life. Ram's treatment of Sita is not really to be recommended. He did not speak to her after he liberated her from Lanka, then due to the public whisperings she had to go through Agnipariksha, then she took to the jungle and spent her life in Ved Vyasa's ashram. To this i am sure everyone will say that he also didn't take another wife, fine but that does not in any manner reduce the intensity of the allegation on Sita's character and finally after the Ashwamedha when he meets her he again asks her to prove the chastity of her character at which point she calls it a day. I was so hoping that in Krishna's Avatar, where he is so different from Ram in every way there would be a happy romantic end.
Both Mahabharat and Ramayan make me so sad.

Without meaning to offend any religious sensibilities i have a couple of points to make, first that Krishna is so much more real than Ram. He is so much more of a human element and therefore there was more of an expectation of a happy end with Radha. But as far as i remember he left V when he was quite young to escape from all the threats and thereafter he got involved in all the royal intrigue etc and with the K&P brothers, so basically what i am saying is that i don't understand the timelines. How and what time was he supposed to have had an affair with Radhaji? When he first appears in Mahabharat he isn't married as far as i remember and there is no mention of Radha. I haven't read the Harivamsa but if anyone has can you please elaborate whether it mentions Radha.

And secondly now please don't get upset, i am totally not a radical muslim or anything (which should be quite obvious considering i know quite a bit of hinduism), its quite interesting how muslims get so much flack all over the world over our poor prophet getting married just under 10 times while here we have Krishnji with over 16,000 wives!!! ;) Shows what wonderful work the world media does when they want to paint someone black, specially when the reason for the multiplicity of wives in both the situations is the same. Seems like a situation of double standards to me.

Also, you can love as many people as your heart is capable..(not that you should sleep with everyone you love) different relationships call for differnt actions or sometimes no acton.. you have to feel that kind of love and then you will know the right things to do..so if krishna wanted to get down with all those ladies that's his business.. it was love! He's god don't judge him. Worry about your own actions and those of no one else! Make the world a brighter place...and don't just do it for yourself or to impress your friends do it for the greater good which brings me to the point.. everyone calling krishna selfish.. if he were selfish he would have witheld his love from the gopis

People are selfish.. radah and krishna love eachother unconditionally.. and they love others unconditionally... does anyone understand the meaning of unconditional? Just because someone does something you precieve to be wrong it changes nothing.. pure love does not stop nothing you do will change the feeling. If krishna is with another.. she still loves if he ignores her, she loves.. the story is intended to teach us to love without boundaries.. no matter what someone does says however they hurt you... whatever kinds of obsticals are in place such as distance or social rules or even morality.. love is over all. If anything is done in an act of love (not lust) prue love then it is never wrong! Don't judge, you haven't the right.. chant hare krishna. It will become clear

Due to the five poisons of the mind - Ultimate Truth is away and they are as under - 1) Anger, 2) Fear, 3) Greed, 4) Hate, 5) Delusion of Mind. Whoever is searching away and using mind, will miss the point. This mind is deceptive and under delusion. Once the delusion is gone, the truth will reveal. The best practice is Meditation. First of all you may need to know the true meaning of Budha. I am not talking about Gautama Budha but this mind is the Buddha. Buddha means enlightened mind, free from duality. This mind is the Gate to Truth but I am not talking about the conventional mind, when delusions of the mind is gone, the truth is revealed.

The saddest thing about this story is that it features in the end in at least one version the inevitable end that comes to an illicit relationship. He says he has to go away for a while, promises he won't forget her, and leaves. She pines away for him for a long time. Meanwhile he goes on with his life, marries at least twice to girls who are richer or more famous. He comes back to the vicinity his old home town a number of years later, and sees her. She sees him, the man she's longed for. What happens then? He doesn't even acknowledge her. Now, is that eternal love? No... he slept with her, took advantage her... and we are to excuse him just because he was the most popular boy in the village, the one most likely to succeed? I think not. It happens all the time.

Notice how devotees are told by their gurus not to think too much about the nature of what these two really did - either premarital or extramarital. The end was inevitable, and downright misogynistic to boot. The old story of 'I'll never forget the first time...'

Sex is powerful, and was meant to be a divine gift from God HImself. This myth about its misuse really reads like a male oriented story of conquest.

We shouldn't take the story so literally..these are incarnations of divine elements or archetypes if you will. Radha and Krishna represents the longing for divine union between the soul and God. We all have that longing within us..the soul for the divine. the complications of their relationship represent the challenges that the soul has in reaching that divine union while incarnated as a human here on earth. That longing and frustration and complication which comes from having to live in a restricted world of rules or customs while seeking the freedom of the divine. Rahda and Krishna's secret love represents the need to transcend material existence in order to achieve the divine union. We run into problems when we try to inject our moral judgements or materialistic views into these archetypes. This is about transcendence and not about existing within the limitations of material existence.

These are just symbols and are not meant as value judgement on the morality of married life. Get out of your limited and materialstic viewpoints..The bliss of the divine union supercedes all convention...it breaks down all socially imposed barriers..it silences all moral judgements..it simply is...and will always be.

This story is an excellent example of how traditions and cultures interfere with true love. a girl is promised to a man when she is very young. she is raised to think of this man as her god. unfortunately sometimes these girls fall in love with someone else. thier heart wants the other man but their FAMILIES want her to marry a man she doesnt love. the reason the love between these two was pure is because of this------niether Krishna or Radha wanted to marry their spouses. they wanted each other but SOCIETY and culture would not allow this. so to make the families happy (the families didnt care about their happiness because they expected them to marry others) they married who their hearts DIDNT want. but their hearts would not be denied their love so they had to meet in secret. So, what is the true wrong here? living a lie with a spouse you dont love or hiding your hearts true love?

I just want to say that just like me, we might have got the meaning of God wrong. I recently asked a swami about God n said to him how can we follow him if he is doing so many wrongs. He explained that where we go rong is the fact that we think of God as pple. God himself is the incarnation of all human feelings. He just shows and interprets what we feel n do. He is not human. He comes in the human form to protect and guide us and wat he shows us is as a human, what we do. Thats all.

Hi. Wat krishn and Radha did was just part of a mythology. I accept that being married with someone and loving someone else is not recommendable, even if it is god. Both krishna and Radha were married separately and they were having an affair. But wat we have to keep in mind is the good things that we can learn from Krishn and Radha. I prefer bypassing the negative in People and God. So chill. Take a romanised holy book and read about the Raaslila or Bhagavata.

Krishna loved Radha and vice versa.all the answers are there for you to know which lesson to learn.you are among those ignorants who have not yet opened their eyes.where there's love involved, nothing is unethical.Radha for sure was not yet married. But she was older than Krishna in age.Even though she got married after Krishna left, she kept thinking of Him.This too is a kind of infidelity. But as the lord said himself, where I am involved, there shall be no wrong deed. And love is Godliness, Radha's infidelity had love involved.so you know the answer now.Still, i am sure you will not accept or listen to any other review because u are still too ignorant.Another several births for you before you become enlightened.

So true love is selfless...is true love to be loving another married woman? I mean, I dont want my wife to fall in love with another man...secretly meeting him and ****ing each other....
Is that what you mean selfless....So this Hindu God Kirshna and Radha is pure selfless love...because they only think of themselves...what about the people they were married to...is that not a responsibility...........Shouldnt Krishna and Radha just gotten an annulment and married the real ones they love?

How can Krishna and Radha's love be pure when both are married....and how could Radha ignore her family and husband for Krishna....
this is not a GOD? If Indians make such horrible stories on how a GOD be a playboy....doing adultery...lust...no wonder Indians now are doing wife swapping, sharring wifes with brothers and I had a chat with an Indian who f***** his aunties...his parents sisters...what is this sick INDIA!!!!!!

If you want to see God as Radha -Krishna, then you will be blessed with a special relationship with the Divine. Because then what you are doing is you are worshiping the lila of Divine Love between the male and female aspects of God in all of its profound dimensions, and this helps you to open your heart and soul more into the beauty of life, living in gratitude for the wonder of all creation. And yes you can see reflections of the Divine Couple in the material world between lovers, married or not. It's really what we want, to love God and be loved by God through each other. And, honestly it's just not the truth that God is male, God is male and female in One, Radha and Krishna combined. They are never separate, because how can God become separate from His power, and can She become separate from Her abode? And they are different than Shiva/Shakti in that their personalities are very different, their moods - Radha and Krishna are the all-attractive couple brimming over with ecstatic love and beauty, Shiva is always in meditation on.. (Krishna?) and Shakti is dancing
Haribol! Just chant God's names with Love and all Grace will come.

Love is. To experience love one must be selfless and look only at the object of that love, for if you look at the love itself, it will make you cry and then it is not love anymore since it is reversed unto oneself. True love is selfless.

I find it sad when muslims make uninformed opinions, treating these pasttimes as if they were historical events. They are lilas, God is lovingly playing transcendental pasttimes with humanity.

Krishna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Without knowing that, a person cannot acquire the proper understanding on these lilas or pasttimes, which are eternal and really meant as a metaphor for a human's love for Divinity and God's love for us.

In the Gita, Lord Krishna said to Arjuna "I am revealing these transcendental truths to you BECAUSE you are my DEVOTEE and BECAUSE you are my FRIEND". If you acquire love for Krishna and cultivate a personal relationship with Krishna, then you will be qualified to understand these things.

Krishna was not god.
He was human.
And the basic thing here is Krishna and Radha had sexual relation which was socially unappropriate.
Krishna didnt marry her because he later bacame king but she was a cowgirl.
And you know what anybody strong could become king at that time.
The critical truth is Krishna took advantage of all his power and domination to have sex with many girls.
Radha was one of the illiterate, ignorant girl who thought Krishna would finally marry her.

Different incident happened in different time and from each even , we try to learn something and take it forward. but stories are stories and we do not know what is right or wrong..but try to take the good stuff out of it.. here is conversation which I really liked, but there are some good things too and he gave a message to his younger brother.. thats really important.

A young second generation Indian in the US was asked by his mother to
explain the significance of 'Diwali'

to his younger brother, this is how he went about it...

'So, like this dude had, like, a big cool kingdom and people liked
him. But, like, his step-mom, or something,

was kinda b*tch, and she forced her husband to, like, send this
cool-dude, he was Ram, to some national forest

or something... Since he was going, for like, something like more than
10 years or so.. he decided to get his chick(Sita)

and his bro(Laxman) along... you know...so that they could all chill
out together.

But Dude, the forest was reeeeal scary sh*t... really man...they had
monkeys and devils and sh*t like that.

But this dude, Ram, kicked with darts and bows and arrows... so it was fine.

But then some bad gangsta boys, some jerk called Ravan, picks up his
babe (Sita) and lures her a way to his hood.

And boy, was our man, and also his bro, Laxman, pissed..... all the
gods were with him... So anyways, you don't mess

with gods. So, Ram, and his bro get an army of monkeys.Dude, don't ask
me how they trained the damn monkeys...

just go along with me, ok...so it was like..., Ram, Lax and their
monkeys whip this gangsta's ass in his own hood.

Anyways, by this time, their time's up in the forest..and anyways...it
gets kinda boring, you know... no TV or malls

or sh*t like that. So,they decided to hitch a ride back home...and
when the people realize that our dude, his bro

and the wife are back home... they thought, well, you know, at least
they deserve something nice...

and they didn't have any bars or clubs in those days... so they
couldn't take them out for a drink, so they,

like, decided to smoke and sh*t...and since they also had some lamps,
they lit the lamps also...

so it was pretty coooooooooool thing...you know with all those
fireworks n stuff...

Really, they even had some local band play along with the fireworks...
and you know, what, dude,

that was the very first, no kidding.., that was the very first
music-synchronized fireworks... you know,

like the 4th of July stuff, but just, more cooler and stuff, you know.
And, so dude, that was how, like,

this festival started.'

I just dont believe this. How can people be so mean.Krishna and Radha's love is eternal and they are from Heaven and they take birth in earth for serving the mankind and taking care of really really sick people. THey take birth in different form , in different family, in different relationship, get married to different people but after all they are reincarnation of Lord Vishnu, the almighty, and Radha is goddess Lakhsmi. so whether you call Radha -krishna, Lakshmi - Narayan, Shiv-PArvati, Balaji-Sridevi or whatever.. its on supreme god.. So please do not disrespect or pretend to be a cool dude by putting your interpretation. Please do meditiate and submit to one God, whatever name you give, Lord Kirishna, Jesus, Mohammad, Buddha, Mahaveer, Guru Nanak, YHWH etc. THis one supreme lord takes birth in different time, in different geographic zone and they try to spread the good words and help us stay disciplined in life ,so that we can have a better life, better life after death and one who attains spirituality , doesnt take birth in this world ever. So keep working and have a good disciplined life and do meditiation which is beneficial for yourself, your health, beauty, mind and everything.. Its simple guys.. not very complicated.

Those people saying go to JKP.org and barsanadham.org want you to have the same experience that Krishn and Gopis had. If you meet Maharaj ji watch your wife and daughter, he will tell them he is Krishn and have relations. It happened to my wife. In kaliyug no one , even Guru, should be having sexual relations as a way to god.

i read almost every one's thoughts and realized that there are so many people who believe in true love. True love = RadhaKrishan.
Our Lord Krishan is very loveble that is why every one loves Him. If i love some one i will not care do that person give a name to our relationship. People around us make us require it. When you are in love you have only one feeling that you can not explain. That feeling do not require anything else then one look of care/love from other person. I truely feel if Radha had required Krishan to marry her he would have married her. What she wanted was love and His soul. She got that and she was happy with it. Krishan our Lord, every one loves him. If we truly love him and ask him to do same He will do so. He will love us too. Radha is great soul that gives us permission to love Him, she teach us how to love him. She is real symbol of love. I think when you are in love you will see in that person Radha or Krishan. We should be happy to know RadhaKrishan to know real love. People who have followed them are also symbols of real love. Presently i dont not have any word to express my feelings toward You Both My God.

I agree to this.. Krishna maybe GOD and Radha maybe his other Half, but the act of
What kind of being they are if they cant control their desires?
~~Radha is married or involved with someone else, and still cannot resist Krishna's musical call. In being with Him she risks social censure, alienation and humiliation. Riddled with shame and inappropriateness, this is hardly a relationship that purportedly embodies the highest union of pure love~~ I found this very ridiculous.. What they did was wrong and to justify it they call it pure love? Haha... and all those ppl who are going along with this justification, wait till ur husbands or wives are being unfaithful to u in the name of PURE LOVE.. then u will realise how wrong this is.. If theirs was such a divine love why did they get married to others? WHy krishna had other wives? it is known tat krishna used to murmur Radha's name even in sleep. If so much in love why must he marry other women? Lust???
Wrong is wrong no matter the one who is doing it, is God descended on earth or a mere human being... If Marriage means just two beings getting together and nothing else then why is there such a ting as MARRIAGE???? wad happened to the VOWS made in the marriage? So wad if it was arranged marriage...? does it mean u can break the marriage vows? Of cos marriage is not an end to love.. but it should all the other love affairs u have other then the love for ur husband or wife... if not simply dont marry... dont marry for others sake.. if u wanna marry, marry wif full heart.. Dont marry becos mother or father says... listen to wad ur heart has to say. if u cant follow wad ur heart says, no point making ppl happy for wad they wan u to do. Marriage is forever.. I hope INDIANS all over the WORLD get THIS>>>>>
What avma is saying is totally a different version of love... That is a feeling of LOVE.. i bet you guys didnt sleep with each other out of love? or you guys din continue to have any affair after ur marriages(if u hav married)..? How can u compare this wif the story of our Krishna n Radha... its Different... MY QUESTION IS WHY DO U STILL LOVE SOMEONE ELSE AFTER MARRYING ANOTHER PERSON???

I am still unsure about a couple of things and my questions are:

When people visit the temples and offer their devotions to Radha-Krishna, what do they seek, what do they wish for?

Also, are devotees to Rhada-Krishna worship equally divided amongst men and women or is it mainly by women?

What is the relationship between Rhada-Krishna and Balarama?

Finally, thank you for the article, interesting and insightful.

Radha did not love Krishna to get married to him. Marriage for most people is to live together and die separartely or divorce later, it is merely rituals. But in the true sense marriage is when the husband and wife helps each other to attain God and become One as Krishna and Radha, not by sex but by meditation where the sixth chakra of both person is met and they become one eternally. I hope people here at least do a move to know the truth rather than talking nonsense.

Shri Radha and Krishna eternal love was not an affair as most of the people here believe. God descended on earth to show man that a relation of lover also can exist between man and God, which is also known as bhakti yoga. He set an example by doing it himself in the form of Radha and Krishna. Radha was not an ordinary girl, she was no doubt the universal mother, who took the form of Radha. One can understand this state of bhakti when one is immersed in this cosmic love otherwise one will believe it to be merely an affair.

We are ALL gopies looking for the perfect love which nothing but the one and only pure love of Suprem Lord. The story had to be told in the manner that a simple person would understand the love story of Ratha-Krishna is of spiritual lova dn not physical love of this world whcih is nothing but a dream world. I feel Radha-Krishna energy in our modern times has evolved into a state where they-we can be together eternally in total bliss-reality......a sacred everlasting marriage......after all, time influenced by no time does change the goalposts of myth-evolution into a more or totally perfect place of being. As Krishna exists in us all now I know I have recently met my Divine Radha......she is my perfect complement and equal......I realise I am ultimately blessed and my devotion to her is one of 100% pure love and commitment. We do not need to fall in love, we walk in love......heart to heart! I wish the same for you all if that is what you want in your life. Hello Kirtie
Love does not just fall in your lap one day ('at first sight').
The 'experience' you mentioin was, to my mind, only probably infatuation. You should not lose your heart and future from one 'incidence'. Learn to understand devotion (without impatience) and you will obtain reciprocal understanding and devotion thru' time - a respect for your 'individuality', which may blossom mutually.

I feel this to be an informative account of Lord Krishna and Radha Rani Ji.
It doesn't matter about nitty gritty detail, it only matters about the moral elements being delivered via this article. Radha sacrified all her happiness for Krishan, therefore not married him. she wanted his mind and not body. That is why Krishan Ji regurlarly muttered her name even though being with his wives.

Lord Krishna is the BEING, Radha is the BECOMING.The desire of the Being becomes the longing of the Becoming for the Being, because their soul is one. This is Radha Krishna relationship, sung by poets and painted by painters....What affair and what gossip?? Lord Krishna left gokul when he was eight years old, after that Radha Krishna never met eachother for life.Judging the DIVINE,really sad.

Seriously, considering the time frame this epic has taken place; having affair was a BIG no-no and think the gosip that one would undergo. Just telling it is eternal love does not suffices many questions that arise. Why no-one can give a strong argument here is beyond my understanding. May be the guys who tell and close the topic by saying its eternal love should first temself try to understand nad try to put into words so that laymen like me understand it well...

Jaya Radhe, Jaya Krishna!

Radharani is the topmost servant of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Lord Krishna. Her love for Krishna is so strong that even Krishna is amazed by it and desires to experience what She feels for Him. so He came 500 years ago as Sri Chaitanya, in the mood of a devotee and because He is absorbed in the mood of Radhe He takes on Her golden complection even though Krishna is normally blackish-blue!

Krishna has His own abode, Goloka Vrindhavan were He eternally spends time with Radha, however when He descends to this earth, for his pastimes He leaves vrindhavan to go to mathura to kill the demoniac kings and at this time He leaves Radha in intense seperation. however there is a place where they are married, although in goloka vrindhavan they are not as the relish the pastimes of being lovers.

MOST IMPORTANT WE ARE ALL SERVANTS OF SRI KRISHNA AND HE IS THE OBJECT OF PURE TRANCENDENTAL LOVE FOR EVERYONE, HE IS IN EVERYONES HEARTS AND IS WAITING FOR YOUR LOVE FOR HIM TO BE AWAKENED!! IF U WANT REAL LOVE YOU WILL ONLY FIND IT IN HIM!

Nice words by Swedenborg:

"There are pure balances, as was shown also by footsteps, when some wanted me to go hither, others thither, as well as by something else, as happened also earlier, and I spoke with spirits about balances, and the fact that all things to the very least in the universal body are kept in balance, thus also in the atmospheric world, and in all and the least things of nature. And it was also shown that in an equilibrium it is the tiniest and very least force that produces a moving, such that even those things that appear most strong and resistant are moved."

No, Radha and Krishna is the story about romantic love. When Krishna was in the middle of the rasa-dance and was full of desire, he saw some footsteps in the sand...Radha´s who hit his heart. Then it was ok. to steal Radha from her husband, because it was a arranged marriage.

I feel that is is very sad and selfish for someone else to determine the fate of someones love. I had a friend that shared a secret love for me and I for him. He explained to me that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. I felt the same but dared not tell him until he shared his feelings for me. He explained that his feeling were so strong he felt that he needed guidance from his father, who was also my pastor. Sad to say that after talking to his father, he decided not to follow heart. We still attend the same church, and he is now dating someone else, of whom his family approves. I know that he is only dating her in the attempt to fill a void. He cannot even talk to me without stummbling over his words, and I often see him starring at me in church, although I act as if he does not exist. The heart does have a mind of its own because his heart talks to mine every time we are in the same room. I can feel the tension and I know that he can too, but he has chosen to allow his family to control his hapiness, and for that reason alone I thank God everyday that he did not become my husband. I would rather have a man that understands his heart and not afraid to follow.

Your (in ISKCON) view about the material body is very confused. Sometimes its sounds like "come and die with me and we gonna fly to the spiritual world"
It is almost devilish.
The body is the manifestation of Your Soul and Spirit in this materiell world.
Be proud of it!
Like Prabhupada was!

(And it is impossible to change sex. If Radha change to Krishna and Krishna change to Radha...?)

"Radha's passion for Krishna symbolizes the soul's intense longing and willingness for the ultimate unification with God"

That is a wrong explanation! Radha is a supreme person. 50% of the ruling God-power. She is the ruling Goddess of creation!

"Shri Krishna is not only the ultimate object of all love, but also is the topmost enjoyer of all loving relationships."

Radha is the ultimate object of Krishnas love. Krishna is the ultimate object of Radhas love. That´s the story of the creation, both the material world and the spiritual worlds. We dont have a patriarkat or a matriarkat. We have total balans.

in response to the question about if love gets transfered to other person.
Personally I believe that Love is something that never gets transfered. Eventhough there is misunderstanding, different views about certain things, inner love for somebody remains the same. Like it is said - \"Love only happens once\", but the next time you learn to just love whoever comes in your life with immense trust and passion without any expectations and only filled with love.

When I was young I would pray to Krishna to let me experience true love... I liked someone at school and he never noticed me...I asked God to let him like me like, Like Krishna Ji liked Radha… then God listened to my prayers... for 5 years we were friends, we never once told each other how we felt but I knew he felt the same for me as i did for him. Then I left for university. After 3 years at university I saw him... he told me that he had always loved me and although he had tried to forget me he could not... for that second I had waited so long... then he asked me what I wanted to do... I had never been out with anyone, and I didn't want that to change, so I told him that I wanted to marry him... a week later we met and on that day he told me that his parents would not accept me... We parted. He wanted to remain friends but I could not... I walked away, knowing that this would be the last time that I would see him... There is not a day that goes by when he is not in my thoughts... I thank Krishna that I was able to experience a drop of the true love that is out there...I am not comparing my story to that of God's there is no comparison... I am just saying that it brought me closer to Krishna and Radha and the love that they shared... Their’s is the true love story, everything else is just a reflection....

They say heart has a mind of it's own, reasons of its own, sometimes not very logical. What if some one knocks ,at a very wrong time and you get emotionally connected.Even if the feelings are pure will they be understood? Can you keep that person even a little bit in your life, may be once in a blue moon know how they are? I failed. My honest intentions were not even given a chance of being heard. They say listen to the heart, i say in this world no one listens to the heart. My prayer to you LORD KRISHNA, if no one else GOD please understand honest heart and true feelings. why i am posting all this here, everyone who respects and is interested in divine love of RADHA and KRISHNA must sure ,understand feelings.

True love means no expectations and unconditional caring.I read this in a book.Once Rukshmani [krishna's wife]asked radha in her dream, why is it that when ever your name comes up in
conversation krishna is very sad.Radha's response, with tears flowing from her eyes, please never remind MY KRISHNA about me if that makes him sad or bring tears in his eyes.
Also pure love is the feeling of the heart,it has no boundries what so ever.you dont have to be with a person ,physically,to love them for ever .Just being the choosen one to experience the feeling, it's a GODS GIFT to trasure for ever

I always prided myself in the fact that I had the innate ability to love someone a lot - kind of “a love like no other”. Time and Space should not and will not matter to me at all when it comes to loving someone. I am Krishna’s devotee and wanted to emulate Radha. I wanted to prove to my dear Krishna that I could love Him or anyone else (who deserved my love) exactly in the way that Radha loves Krishna. Where there is no connotation of time, space, circumstances, memory, intelligence, ego, money, the concept of a physical material body, etc etc. The only thing that really mattered was the spirit and as long as that connection is there, nothing else matters. I was jealous of Radha, because She loves Krishna an entire universe apart. There was a time when I almost hated Her and wanted Krishna to go distant from Her. Little did I realize that I was just a mere human being with my own limited capabilities. Love, I realized is an entirely different ball game from the usual stuff we see on TV and outside live. The kind of love I wanted to prove I had is really nothing compared to what Krishna and Radha have for each other. True love is theirs. The love that we see on TV and/or know of friends etc. is not really “love” in the true sense of the word. And truly sometimes I know for sure, no one can ever love anyone the way that Radha loves Krishna. Her love is a Universe in itself and now I have nothing but the deepest respect and regard for Her. I probably even respect Her more than Krishna himself. Her love for him is completely inexplicable and incomprehensible by anyone at all. I always believed that love is divine, love is spiritual, love is the most natural flow directly from the deepest core of the heart. And who is really seated in the deepest core of the heart? Krishna himself - and that’s the reason why love is so divine and pure in nature. Because it comes from him, directly him. Also a possible reason why people look so radiant and glowing when they are in so-called human “love”. Well, so far so good. But my real question here is - what happens to this love when the person dies or when this person hurts you or you have some difference of opinion, does it magically miraculously get transferred to another person? And when such a true love happens to some mortal, is it necessary to talk to that other person all the time or is just their thought enough?

The love is real and symbolises the efforts one makes to achieve the state of purity. This story depicts that we rise is love. But I dont find it right for married people to be in love with somebody else, How can we justify ignoring our married partners and be in love with somebody else ...how gr8 ...we have to follow control then...even if we are not in love with spouse but should not dare to love somebody else... and follow the path of rightness and honesty with partner ..however bad the partner is... but afterall we are married and in order to honour the institution of marriage it is must to not love somebody else after marriage ..even though we dont like the person

Krsna enjoys Himself in two separate forms, as the enjoyer and the enjoyed. Krsna's beauty is so stunning that He Himself becomes enchanted by His own beauty. But if the beauty of Srimati Radharani were not greater than that of Sri Krsna, She could not enchant He who can enchant the whole universe. That is why She is called Bhuvan-mohan-mohini. She is the effulgence of Krsna, who is like the full moon (Krsnachandra). Sri Krsna is the sum total of all ecstasy, all beauty. So the greatness of Radharani, is beyond the limit of human knowledge, even beyond the limit of understanding of many liberated souls.

In the Brihad-Gautamiya Tantra, Radharani is described as follows:

devi krishna-mayi prokta
radhika para-devata
sarva-lakshmi-mayi sarva
kantih sammohini para

"The transcendental goddess Srimati Radharani is the direct counterpart of Lord Sri Krishna. She is the central figure for all the goddesses of fortune. She possesses all the attractiveness to attract the all-attractive Personality of Godhead. She is the primeval internal potency of the Lord."
Does that make it clear whom are you talking about.
No materialist can begin to understand this topic of the relationship between Radharani and Lord Krishna.
But the more we awaken our dormant love for God, which is natural state of being for a fully awakened soul, then the more we can comprehend and actually enter into such spiritual loving exchanges.

There was always a question in my sub concious mind, " Why did Lord Krishna leave Radhe behind?". This article puts few things in prospective. Infact Krishna never left Vrindavan. HE was there before and He is there now and He will remain there forever with Radha. Love has nothing to do with human or social relationships. LOVE is pure, unconditional and is understood by those who can understand the love between Radha and Krishna. In spritual terms, we all are Radhas of Krishna. Its' just we have not realized it. Once we do, we will experience the Krishna Conciousness.

modern day radha... before you give yourself that name please understand what the concept of radha and Krsna stood for. it is the concept of unconditional love. whatever the situation. if you can love someone withat that depth you are closer to the actual concept of radha krsna. the ultimate goal of all souls on earth is to experience this unconditional love.. so that we can grow our spirits. may be you dont get this.. or any one in tthis blog.. but you will.. with all that is happening in society.. especially ours.. we will have to realize this.

I think that what Radha Krishna had was so pure, that no one could ever even come close to imitating what they had. the meaning of love is so deep and so pure, not many understand that. True love is real when you can sacrifice the one you love..if you have the courage to love..you have the courage to suffer..and love is only real when you give it your all and from deep within..

I am sure that Radha-Krishna didn't intent to hurt anyone. The love that they felt for each other was not of their choosing. It was simply just there. May be they even regretted it periodically that instead of hiding and keeping it just to themselves, they expressed it. May be hiding it would have been wrong and a sin against their souls. In any case, it was love for purely love's sake, not packaged with promises, expectations and commitments.

It's true...u're right. not everyone experiences that feeling of love... but it's better to have loved and lost than to have not loved at all right... yha... mistaking lust for love happens all the time and people don't realize that those three words ( I LOVE YOU) are meaningful words that can't be just said to anyone and they take advantage of that. In life you fall in love once and those who fall in love more than once are truly lucky.

In 2days world people r misinterpreting this word called “love” that we some time fall short. Love is unconditional, it has no physical, no emotion, no colour, no race, no intellectual, no gender, no spiritual boundaries. It goes beyond all ! And the true, pure love shared between Radha and Krsna is a perfect example of this. This is what we all truly crave, desire and long for, a love like Krsna or a love like Radha. To be One with Radha Krsna………..Jai Sri Radha Krsna

The divine love of Radha and Krishna is a desire each one of us have deep within our being.Dont we have a desire to melt every moment for someone like a burning candle. We all do.Our heart our soul desires that.Infact in everyones life someone comes along, who is there radha or krishna. It can happen any time, married unmarried dose'nt matter.Sometimes we fail to recognise ,sometimes we are helpless and sometimes we dont even have the guts to respect it.The universal truth though radha and krishna can never be together,if they are they are not radha and krishna.they reside in eachothers heart.Love and respect theRADHA andKRISHNAof your heart.

If a married or invovled woman finds 'love' for another man in our World, then she is deemed to be licentious, immoral, sinful and some may even call her a whore. But ironically, in 'spirituality' it is deemed to be divine and the epitomy of 'love'. Also, why would Krishna seduce another man's woman, knowing he could probably have 'any woman' he wants.

Maybe Radha needed to be another man's arms to realise that her 'eternal love' was not the one she was sleeping with, but The One who wasnt.

This article is really wonderful to read, though I would not agree that Krishna had any adultery / physical relationship with Radha...what they had cannot be understood easily or even expressed easily in words...it just has to be experienced silently if one is that lucky...but our human mind is so tainted with selfishness, jealousy, and carnal desires that true love or divine love is totally beyond our comprehension...The concept of "Radha", being love from a lower level to higher levels of divinity (posted by Anusha) is just marvellous

Love, desire, ambition, passion, jelousy, adultery, and sex are human characteristics all human beings display. To have envisioned a god with such a capacity to display such humanity, just shows are own potential to display divinity; to display the beauty of life that god, be it Krishna, Allah, or Christ, has lovingly bestowed upon us can be the only truth one can believe given gods glorious creation. Without seeing the essence of mans own divinity are we truly capable ot commenting on the nature of god or religion?

16yrs older to him. Water flowing from
higer level to lower level is called dhara & divine love which flows from lower level to suprem oness is called Radha

I think that no one in the world can make a real love story alike radha-krishna. Radha was one of the best for Krishna, but they knows that they were not marrying. They made a best example of love in our life. If u love someone that does not mean that she/he also love you that much and also that does not mean that u need to marry him/her to prove that u had a perfect love with that person. Krishna, oh god I love u so much.

simply hats off to the author..article is nice!! but after reading reviews of people here 1 thing i wud like to say,'' please don't compare love b/w human beings wid the love of Radha ji and Krsna...I think love is eternal and is the attribute of soul..in simple words..to love som1 we must know him/her but in our whole we hardly know 10% of ourself how do u beleive u can know another person 100% and if u say u know 100% of u i can bet u'll nvr love any human as it'll seem metrialistic........don't mind if i being too harsh

Radha is teaching us how to love Krishna. Souls are girls and Krishna - God is a boy. So we are meant to love God as a girl loves a boy. And Krishna since he is God, he is the perfect lover and everybody is happy

I have been with my husband since we were both 17 that's almost 9 years for us. We it means to "be the right one".
I think to be the right one you would have to have some sort of ties befor you met again. You might not know his or her name but know something about him or her.
It's like finding that part of you that you have lost. I think that's a true soul-mate.

this is nice, but I think think that radha should have gotten married instead of pineing over Krishna. She sacrificed everything she could have had, just for a lover. I would never have a lover when i knew that he already had such a great number of concubines and wives....

How do you define facts? A fact is something that can be scientifically proven. Where is the scientific proof that anyone can make love with thousands of people simultaneously? Now, I consider myself to be a spiritual person and I don't make a god of science; however, I must say that srimati's comment are the only ones that make any sense here. I'm all for the world of poetry and the imagination, but there's a huge difference between faith and delusion. This whole article seems to me to be the worst type of male fantasy. The dolls are nice enough but BARBIE! Now, what does Ken have to say about all this? Can he make love with 16,218 barbies in one night?

Hi, to all the ladies out here who say the guy was a flirt and wonder how he felt, I have a question -- Is it not possible for a married lady to not be understood by her husband? Where does she turn to for support? I guess Krishna's feelings were the definition of love itself. As for me, I had felt a deep sense of caring and joy as a person she still looks up to. I do wish the same joy for all of you, whether in or out of social bonds. A happy woman is truly like a goddess.

i think this article is really good. It tells you that Radha deeply cared for Krishna even though he was a flirt. Even if a person is a flirt that does not mean you cannot love that person deeply. Sometimes love just happens and you don't even realize that you are in love. love is a very strong emotion. It is to be felt. You necessarily don't have to spend your entire life with that person. You can love a person even if you don't get to be with him. Take the example of meera she devoted her entire life to krishna.

I feel like I am today's modern day Radha. I am in a similar situation where I had this spiritual connection with someone who happened to be a huge flirt and he topped it off by marrying someone else. I guess these stories exist because this happens in real life and it helps us cope with it.

wel it's a fabulous article... quite informative.. i do feel i got d answers to my questions. but wat about the wives of Shree Krishna? i mean.. don't they feel love for krishna? if now in the actual era, if a wife loves somebody else other than her husband, people will never understand this relationship, is this relationship sinful? i know about the circumtances of the mariage of Shree Krishna with Rukhmini, but why did He get marry in the first place when He felt pure love only for Radha? Did Radha feel betrayed? n why did Radha not marry Shree krishna in the first place? As a synopsis i do understand the relationship of Radha and krishna, but i feel the end is too unjust.. she should be married to Krishna only... only to krishna.. i have no doubt that it is divine love... for i believe in their love..

True love is acceptance of another as they are. The absence of jealousy, anger, and ego. This is the love that Radha-Krishna have.

this story is little off krishna and radha didn''t have adulterous relationship they knew each other before they got married and other people their love was divine because they loved each other and they were seprated then they had got married to other people and at the end of their life they met each other again but they never had a sexual relationship so their was no adultery so stop giving their name a bad spot their love was pure and divine

Thank you for this insightful look into this Krishna-Radha love. If someone isn't married to a person they love, just not love the way Radha loved Krishna and at the same time in love with another the way Radha loved Krishna, then that person simply cannot understand this is not about adultery at all. It's just about a natural emotion called love that a woman feels for a man. Nobody ever said that a person can't love another simply because they're married to another. We do not choose who we love in that manner. Excellent presentation, exactly what I had been looking for to explain this relationship. Thanks again.

My husband and I have the same kind of love that Krishna and Radha share. Yes, dreams do come true. You can have the divine love you have always sought within a human. We are the living proof. Don't stop seeking this divine love for yourself. It is there for your receiving.

Under the cover of devine love or eaternal love etc we are basically taught to think highly about the adultrous and profane relationship. How in the world people could take these stories as their spiritual guide. Fortunately there were no AIDS those days, otherwise AIDS virus would have been another essential GOD system of hindu mythology.

Is this the way of life? Stealing other's wives! What are we indulging into? Why do we get married, tie the knots and recite the mantras? Does this mean anything at all to Hindus.
